Clearwater is most known for its powdery white sand and aquamarine waters, which are both sights to see, especially during the frigid winter months. As we all know, once mid to late winter rolls around, everybody is craving sunshine and warmth!

Even in the heart of winter, Clearwater is one of the warmest beaches in Florida in February (). You can expect high temperatures in the mid-60s and lows in the high 50s.

By the time February comes around, everyone is dreaming of a beach getaway. Key West is one of the best beach destinations in February. Given that it’s still winter, the temperatures will be mild, with an average high of 76°F and low of 66°F, which is still significantly higher than most areas of the country at this time of year.

Thanks to near-perfect weather, the island will be crowded. Accommodations will fill up quickly, and it’s one of the most expensive times to visit.

The best thing about Key West in February is the beach! Enjoy the rays and the waves at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park or Smathers Beach. Both are excellent places to relax on the beach or waste away the day snorkeling.

Those who would like to explore a more remote beach should head out to Dry Tortugas National Park. It’s 70 miles off the shore of Key West, but well worth the effort to get there. A ferry or tour transportation is required to reach the park.

Take advantage of the fewer crowds at Anna Maria Island (AMI) on Florida's Gulf Coast this February. Visitors can expect temperature highs of 74° with very little rainfall. While this is a little chilly for locals, tourists still spend time on the beaches and at other attractions.

Beautiful AMI is a barrier island comprising three cities: Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, and Anna Maria, and each takes in seven miles of sugary sandy shores. The most popular area is around Bridge Street (Bradenton Beach), where you'll find a collection of bars like the Daiquiri Deck, restaurants such as Anna Maria Oyster Bar, boat tours, and a historic pier. One of the closest beaches to Bridge Street is Cortez Beach, a spot for epic sunsets!

Families also like to pitch up further north on the island at Manatee Beach, as it offers comforts, such as the Anna Maria Island Cafe, restrooms, and entertainment via its volleyball nets. If you don't mind sunbathing without access to restrooms, Bean Point Beach is quite remote and located on the quieter side of AMI but offers views of Passage Key, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, and St Pete. The Big Island of Hawaii is an incredible beach destination in February, thanks to its dry, warm weather and diverse beaches.

Most of the Hawaiian Islands experience wet winters, with gnarly waves, especially on the northern and western sides of the islands. However, the Big Island is the southernmost island in the archipelago and thus, is sheltered from much of this nasty winter weather, making it an ideal spot to soak up the sun. Plus, the Big Island has an incredibly huge array of beaches to choose from.

If you want white sand beaches, head to the beaches around Waikōloa Village, a glitzy resort area on the west side of the island. For example, Mauna Kea Beach is absolutely beautiful, with soft white sand, turquoise water, and swaying palm trees. In February, you might even get lucky and spot some humpback whales off its shores!

Alternatively, the Big Island is home to one of only four green sand beaches on the planet. Papakōlea Beach is located near the southern tip of the island (which also just so happens to be the southernmost point in the entire United States!) and is only accessible via a 5.6-mile hiking trail.

However, many of the beaches on the Big Island consist of dramatic black sand. Perhaps the most iconic one is Punaluʻu Beach, a gorgeous stretch of black sand along the southern shoreline of the island that’s known as a popular hot spot for honu (sea turtles).

However, for something less isolated staying in the area of Half Moon Bay is a must. Belize

Although this is Belize's winter, winter in this Caribbean paradise means dry season, with blue skies and a whole lot of sunshine! Temperatures average around 26 - 28°C (78 - 82°F), with cooler evenings. Mild winds keep the humidity down too. The water is an inviting 26°C (80°F), making this a perfect time for snorkelling and diving, or simply floating in the calm, blue waters of the Caribbean.

The holiday crowds from Christmas and New Years have eased, although February is still considered one of the peak times for travel in Belize, so don't leave booking too late. There are hundreds of islands and miles of coastline to choose from when planning your Belize itinerary.

The two most popular islands are Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye (commonly known by San Pedro, the name of the only town on the island). But it's possible to get off the beaten track and stay at one of the more remote and undeveloped cayes, like Tobacco Caye or Long Caye.

If you'd prefer a beach town on the mainland, Hopkins and Placencia are the best options. You get the benefit of being close to the Belize Barrier Reef, as well as being able to venture inland into Belize's lush jungle on a day trip.

The major event in February is the carnival, celebrated by many countries around Latin America. Occurring in the week before Lent, the island of Ambergris Caye is carnival central in Belize. February marks the end of any wet weather that may come and temperatures range from 25°C to 31°C meaning it’s one of the cooler months to visit. You can always count on the famous Aruba wind to cool you down if this is too much. Aruba is home to some of the world’s best beaches like Eagle Beach - a consistent winner of the Best Beach in the Word Award! Cuba is a fabulous tourist destination, with a lot to offer to travelers. Here you will find beautiful cities, lush nature and wildlife, complex and unique history, delicious food, and fun music. If you want to add a bit of relaxing time, Cuba won't disappoint either. Indeed, there are some incredible beaches in Cuba.

Cuban beaches can be enjoyed year-round, but are at their best in the Northern Hemisphere winter months. In particular, if you decide to visit Cuba in February the weather will be significantly more pleasant than in the summer months, when it may rain more often (including thunderstorms) and the humidity is higher.

Visiting in February also means avoiding the larger tourist crowds that travel to Cuba during the summer holidays. Beaches are not crowded then -, in some cases, you may well have the beach to yourself. An additional reason to travel in February is that it's much cheaper, and that includes day trips to a particular beach - it will be cheaper to hire a driver for the day, to take part in snorkeling expeditions, and even to rent things such as sun beds and umbrellas.

There are beautiful beaches everywhere in Cuba. Go to Cayo Jutias, about an hour drive from Vinales, to appreciate the long, white sandy beach and the clear waters perfect for snorkeling. Playa Maguana is the best beach near Baracoa, and in February it is blissfully quiet. Playa Ancon, near Trinidad, is another popular beach and can be reached by bike from town too.

Whether you're traveling with a multi-generational family group, seeking a romantic getaway as a couple, or looking for a solo adventure, Turks and Caicos has something for everyone.

Turks and Caicos is especially known for its gorgeous beaches, especially the three-mile Grace Bay Beach, which is regularly named to the list of the most beautiful beaches in the world. But if you don't want to spend your whole vacation lying on the sand, there are plenty of other things to do as well including horseback riding, Jeep tours and watersports like snorkeling, diving, kayaking, sport fishing and windsurfing.

February is the best month for humpback whale watching in Turks and Caicos. Big Blue Collective operates whale-watching charters out of Providenciales, and if you get lucky you may be able to snorkel with the humpbacks.

One of the highlights of Providenciales is Chalk Sound National Park, which has stunningly turquoise water. You can kayak or paddle-board while you check out local residents like sea turtles and iguanas.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

If you are looking for a unique experience, traveling to Rio de Janeiro during the month of February definitely makes the list.

Since Brazil is located in the southern hemisphere, February is one of the peak months of the summer season in Rio. The weather is quite hot and humid, but this means it is also the best season to enjoy the incredible Carioca beaches.

Rio has a lot of incredible beaches. Two of the most famous ones are Ipanema and Copacabana, and it is where most of the tourists stay. Comparing Copacabana to Ipanema, the first one is more touristic, but they are both great and offer a lot of activities like volleyball, stand-up paddle, beach tennis, etc. If you would like to explore the more local side of Rio, you can also visit Barra da Tijuca, and the further beaches of Prainha and Grumari, well-known as good surfer spots.

What makes Rio so special during the month of February is that it is Carnival season. The specific date Carnival is celebrated varies every year depending on Easter, but in the majority of cases, it will fall between February and the first week of March. Carnival in Rio is a very big deal. The official event lasts an entire week, but the preparation for the main event happens throughout the entire month preceding it.

This means that even if Carnival falls in March, there will be a lot of events and things happening in the city throughout the entire month of February – but especially during the weekends.
As you can imagine, Rio de Janeiro gets quite busy this time of year. Lots of people come from other corners of the country and from abroad to experience Carnival in Rio. If you are not a fan of crowds, the best thing to do is book your trip for the preceding weeks of the month. If you are a fan of crowds, you will enjoy the city during the official Carnival week.

Florianopolis, Brazil

With its huge coastline and warm weather, it’s no surprise that Brazil has plenty of spectacular beaches. In particular, the island of Florianopolis is one of Brazil’s most beautiful beach destinations and is an ideal place to visit in February.

Located in southern Brazil, Florianopolis is both a 33-mile-long island and the capital of the State of Santa Catarina. Connected to the mainland by a bridge, and with its own international airport, it's easily accessible from other popular destinations in South America, like Iguazu Falls, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.

Although it’s technically a city, and there is an urban downtown core, most of the island comprises pristine beaches, untouched forests, waterfront resorts and quaint neighbourhoods. In fact, there are over 40 different beaches on the island, including surfing hotspots, family-friendly beaches and secluded coves.

February is the best time to visit Florianopolis as it’s the height of the summer season when the island truly comes alive with ideal beach weather, tons of activities, and a vibrant atmosphere.

There’s something for everyone here including water sports, sandboarding, paragliding, hiking, historic sites, museums, art and culture. Or, if you prefer to unwind on the beach, you won’t struggle to find a sun lounger to rent and a caipirinha to sip on in the sun!

The winter months are the most popular times to visit Puerto Escondido. You can expect clear skies and temperatures ranging from 73-84 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the month of February. Yet despite Mexico’s popularity in the winter, there are fewer crowds in Puerto Escondido than in more touristy spots like Cabo and Cancun.

Puerto Escondido has long been a Mexico hidden gem known amongst backpackers and expats, but over the past few years, more and more savvy vacationers have discovered it. Despite its growing popularity, Puerto Escondido still feels like a real Mexican city, but with plenty of incredible things to do as a visitor.

Cabo San Lucas is the perfect beach destination to visit in February! Cabo is located at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula and is a favorite travel destination on Mexico’s Pacific coast.

One of the most popular beaches in Cabo is El Medano Beach. It’s the easiest to get to from the marina, and it’s lined with resorts and restaurants so there is always something going on here! Buy a souvenir from a local vendor, go for a swim, take a ride on a jet ski, or just soak up the sun. El Medano Beach is a nice long sandy beach, so if you love a long walk in the surf, this is the beach for you.

For a quieter alternative, check out the pristine beauty of Lovers Beach. It’s nestled in between Cabo’s iconic rock formations of Land’s End and is only accessible by water. The easiest way to get there is by water taxi. It’s perfect for swimming or snorkeling, but note there are no facilities out on Lovers Beach – so plan accordingly.

There are many fun ways to spend a day in Cabo – from sailing to horseback rides along the beach. Some of the most popular Cabo San Lucas tours are whale-watching excursions. Whale season extends from mid-December through mid-April, but February is one of the peak times to see these majestic creatures.

Cabo San Lucas can get pretty toasty in the summer, but the temperatures in February are perfect, with highs around 81°F and lows around 61°F. These amazing temperatures mean that you’ll be in good company – lots of folks will have the idea to escape the cold to enjoy the sunny beaches of Mexico!

La Paz, Mexico

Featuring year-round pleasant weather, La Paz is the lively capital of the Baja California Sur peninsula. Nestled in a large bay in the west of Mexico, La Paz is a charming beach town and a popular vacation destination. February is the perfect time to visit as it is the tail end of peak season, meaning prices are lower and crowds are fewer.

La Paz is well known for its many sprawling beaches including the nearby Balandra Beach, also known as Mexico's beautiful beach. Featuring golden sand and cacti-covered mountains, Balandra Beach is actually home to seven beaches and low tide gives way to long sandbanks which you can wade out to. La Ventana Beach is popular for water sports and is a favourite for windsurfers due to consistent winds. While El Tecolote Beach boasts coastal hikes with panoramic views.

La Paz is particularly great to visit in February as this is the peak of whale-watching season. Migratory whale sharks, the largest fish in the world, can be found in the waters off La Paz between October and May. It's possible to swim with whale sharks by taking a licensed tour. Swimming with sea lions is also a popular activity and can be done on two islands, San Rafaelito and Espíritu Santo.

La Paz itself is home to a charming old town with colonial architecture and interesting museums. The oceanfront malecón is dotted with sculptures made by local artists and is a great place to walk or cycle. The city centre is easily accessible from La Paz International Airport. The journey from other popular Baja destinations, including Los Cabos which also has an international airport, is roughly 2 hours by car.

February is a spectacular time to visit Jambiani Beach in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The weather is blissful - warm and sunny, with temperatures ranging from 75°F to 85°F. The beach is quieter during this time of the year too, making it the ideal time for those who prefer a peaceful and relaxing vacation away from the crowds.

Jambiani is the low-key cousin to the more touristy Kendwa and Nungwi Beaches on the northern shores. Here you can still see fishermen bringing in the early morning catch, and local children playing in the sand.

Until the Lighthouse Festival. This is a top reason to head to Jambiani Beach in February. The much anticipated annual festival is a week-long celebration. This collaborative project transforms the area with small parties at stunning locales in the area.

You’ll get to listen to amazing international music against the insanely beautiful backdrop of one of Zanzibar’s best beaches. Musical guests include acts like Alex Ranerro, an electronic music artist from Slovenia, French singer and songwriter Alice, and Ras Moses, the Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter from Colorado, US.

You can immerse yourself in local culture and multinational sounds. Enjoy live music, and festival vibes, and meet people from across the globe. If it’s your first time in Zanzibar, it’s the perfect introduction. If not, it will be a side of the island that you’ve never seen before.

Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most beautiful and vibrant cities, and February is an ideal time to visit. The warm weather and clear skies make it an excellent time to spend a few days in Cape Town. February is the height of summer in South Africa, with long days and comfortable temperatures, perfect for outdoor activities like hiking, visiting vineyards, and heading to the city’s stunning beaches.

Cape Town is surrounded by many beautiful beaches, and several are suitable for swimming. Highlights are Clifton and Camps Bay, with calm waters and sheltered coves, although the cold waters are only tempting on the hottest days. For warmer waters, head to Muizenberg, famous for its surf, or Boulders Beach, where you can watch African penguins playing in the water.

February is also less crowded compared to the peak tourist season around December and January, and local school holidays have ended. It’s a great time to see the colourful Bo-Kaap neighborhood and the V&A Waterfront at their best in sunny weather.

Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

The Canary Islands are one of the best places in Europe to visit during the month of February if you’re looking for sun, perfect temperatures, and beach days! There are 7 main Canary Islands, but I’m going to focus on Tenerife because it’s the island with the most to do and the best weather.

Tenerife is known as one of the greatest beach destinations in Europe year-round. The weather in the south of the island is warm enough to go swimming any time, it almost never rains, the beaches are gorgeous, the food and sangria are to die for, and the Canarian people are so kind… I could go on and on. February is the perfect time to visit Tenerife because it also happens to be Carnaval (the most important one in Europe and the second most important in the world). It is SO much fun! At night everyone wears costumes and it’s a big party in the street.

I recommend staying in the south of the island, due to the stunning beaches and the weather, but if you’re interested in visiting Carnaval you can stay in Santa Cruz (the capital city) for a night or two.

The lovely island of Tenerife in Spain’s Canary Islands is a fantastic destination for a beach vacation in February. The island has many gorgeous beaches, fancy resorts, and natural beauty. The scorching weather of the summer is gone. Instead, February brings milder temperatures and abundant sun that make water sports and beach time quite pleasant.

Beaches on the south part of the island are famous for white sand and calm conditions for swimming. Playa de las Vistas in Los Cristianos is a family-friendly beach where parents can watch their kids safely splash in the waves.

Playa del Duque in Costa Adeje is the classic resort beach with sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach huts. Popular restaurants dot the beach and those looking for nightlife will find it nearby. Playa Amarilla, also on the south shore, is an excellent place for snorkeling and diving as the calm crystal clear water is teeming with marine life. The brilliant yellow of the sandstone walls surrounding the beach gives it its name.

La Arenita Beach in Palm-Mar is a perfect place to kayak and snorkel to see the turtles of Tenerife. Kayaking companies will take you from this beach to see the turtles and dolphins in the wild. On the north side of the island, surfing beaches are prominent. Playa Jardin in Puerto de la Cruz not only has great surfing conditions, but the botanical garden built around it is gorgeous.

Besides visiting the beaches, Tenerife has many natural and cultural attractions. Hiking on Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain, is spectacular in February. Also, a visit to the charming mountain village of Masca is awe-inspiring.

February is a popular time to visit Tenerife so make sure to book early.

Moorea, French Polynesia

February is one of the best months to visit Thailand, as it's a shoulder season where you can enjoy hanging out around the beach rain-free with comfortable temperatures compared to the later months. Nonetheless, this makes it an ideal time for beach activities, whether you enjoy water sports or just need a beach getaway to relax.

Koh Adang, Thailand

Koh Adang in Southern Thailand is an incredible beach destination in February. This little-known island in the south Andaman Sea near Malaysia is a little piece of paradise. The island has exceptional white sand beaches, excellent coral and marine life and very few visitors, making it the picture postcard example of a deserted tropical island. If you’re looking to explore the island by foot, there are a couple of nice hikes to do as well. You can trek through the jungle to a stunning (but cold) waterfall, or to a viewpoint of Koh Lipe in the distance.

In February, the weather on Koh Adang is perfect. February falls within Thailand’s dry season, so during this time, the days are warm and clear and the sea is perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

There is only one place to stay on Koh Adang: the Adang Island Resort. The resort is secluded and private and you’ll probably never want to leave. This 3-star resort features a private beach, an ocean-view swimming pool, a fantastic restaurant and lots of water gear like kayaks, snorkels and SUPs. The water surrounding the island is great to explore and play in. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can visit the remainder of the island, which is a national park. There’s no development on this side, so visit as a day trip or bring your own camping gear.

As very few people know about Koh Adang, you’ll never have to worry about crowds and will only have to share this hidden gem with a handful of other people. Sound perfect? It is!

Railay, Thailand

What could be better than a visit to the beach in Thailand in February? Thailand is at its best in February with dry weather and no rainfall and offers some of the most pristine beaches in the world!

Krabi is one of Thailand's most beautiful provinces with stunning beaches such as Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi or Long Beach on Koh Lanta.

But one of the most beautiful beaches in Krabi and in the whole of Thailand is definitely Railey Beach. It's just a short longtail boat ride from Ao Nang and is the beach you've been dreaming of. Railay Beach is characterised by its famous stunning limestone formations, powdery white sand and crystal clear waters.

The best thing about Railay is that it's more than just a pretty face. There's plenty to do and it's a perfect place to stay for a few days. Railay is a paradise for rock climbers of all levels and the stunning Phra Nang Cave Beach nearby is famous for its cave shrine and vibrant coral. Add to it all the kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling and hiking and there you have it - a paradise on earth.

February is the high season in Thailand. So if you want to take a day trip from Ao Nang, set off as early as possible to avoid the crowds. Railay is a popular destination for day trips. If you opt for a multi-day stay, you will be able to enjoy a more serene experience after all the day-trippers have left.

Alternatively, you can stay in Ao Nang and explore the whole province of Krabi from there. Krabi really is the best beach destination in February.

Phuket, Thailand

If you’re looking for one of the best beach destinations in February, head to Phuket, Thailand! This Southeast Asian destination blends tropical beauty and ideal weather conditions.

During February, Thailand is in the cool season. This is the most preferred time to travel to the country, and the season spans from November through February.

In February, temperatures in Phuket are an average high of 91°F (33°C) and a low of 77°F (25°C). This month is also one of the driest of the year and has plenty of sunny days. These weather conditions provide the perfect opportunity to relax in the sun and partake in the island’s various water activities.

Beyond the ideal weather, Phuket has diverse and pristine beaches to enjoy. If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, then Patong Beach is the place to be! This beach is also home to a bustling nightlife and various water sports.

Meanwhile, if you prefer a quaint beach paradise, go to Karon or Kata Beach. These two beaches offer a quieter, more relaxed environment while offering dining options and water activities.

When it comes to finding a beach destination in February that’s close to Europe, you may want to cast your eyes towards Turkey’s Turquoise Coast. The Antalya region, located in Southeast Turkey, is famous for its stunning beaches and historical landmarks, making it the perfect destination on Turkey's Mediterranean coast to visit if it’s too difficult to fly to tropical countries.

While it’s most popular during the summer months, February unveils a different side of this coastal paradise. Antalya rarely gets super cold in February, and temperatures fall around a mild 15ºC on average, which may be too cold to lie on a beach, but not too cold to go diving or enjoy the many watersport activities you can do here.

In the summer, Antalya’s beaches are packed with people and it can be hard to find a spot to lay your towel down, but in February it’s relatively quiet in terms of tourism, allowing visitors to experience a more tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation.

Lara Beach and Konyaalti Beach are two of the most popular choices, both offering stretches of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Lara Beach also has a year-round Sand Sculpture Museum, Sandland, which is one of the largest sand sculpture parks in the world.

Boracay, Philippines

February is one of the best seasons to visit the top beach destination in the Philippines - Boracay. During this month, the weather is perfect. It's cool and drier than usual, with very little chance of rain. You can avoid the high humidity and scorching heat that the Philippines is known for.

It's Valentine's Day month, which is a popular holiday in the country. It is busy for a few days on or before February 14th, and the prices are a little higher. But for the rest of the month, you can expect fewer people and prices at reasonable rates. On the other hand, if you're travelling there to spend time with your significant other, Boracay is easily one of the most romantic places in the Philippines. You can arrange a sunset cruise or go on a private sailing for the two of you.

If you have 2 weeks in the Philippines, you can plan to spend 3-4 days in Boracay and have enough time to do many activities. Things you can do during your visit here include snorkelling, diving, boat tours, jet skiing, and parasailing, or simply get your tan on and enjoy the fine white sandy beaches. If you enjoy the crowd, stay in the area of Stations 1, 2, and 3. You can get a more serene vibe in the Newcoast Beach area, where many high-end resorts are located. Across Station 2, Bulabog Beach is also much quieter and known as the spot for kite surfing. There are lessons you can take, or simply rent the kit if you're experienced.

Getting to Boracay can be a bit of a challenge since you need to fly from Manila and then take a 15-minute boat ride. Once you get on the island, you can either book a transfer service to your hotel or hire one of the e-trike (similar to tuk-tuk) from the ferry terminal.

Palawan, Philippines

The Philippines is one of the best beach destinations to visit in February. Home to some of the world’s most picturesque beaches, the Philippines is an absolute must for those who love the sand, sea and sun.

February is one of the best times of year to visit the Philippines. This collection of islands has almost perfect weather during this month. The temperature is warm but bearable, the rainfall is low and you’re almost guaranteed blue skies.

Situated on Havelock Island, part of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India, Radhanagar Beach is one of Asia’s cleanest beaches. Commonly known as beach number 7 by locals, Radhanagar Beach has the title of being the world’s seventh-best beach. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind, as the beach has white sand and clear blue waters. The beach is popular among tourists and locals for swimming, providing breathtaking sunsets each day.

With pleasant, dry, and mild weather, Radhanagar Beach in Havelock is ideal. The temperature, ranging between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius, is generally comfortable, making it suitable for outdoor activities and beach exploration. Sri Lanka boasts some of the best beaches in the world, and February brings consistently good weather, averaging around 28°C. The warm, crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean are home to an incredible array of wildlife. It is possible to spot turtles, dolphins and even Blue Whales on the beaches.

For those looking to snorkel, the beaches along the southern tip of the Island are particularly good for shallow corals, with plenty of colourful fish and even black-tip reef sharks. There are also many Turtle Sanctuaries along the Southeast coast where you can watch the young hatchlings make their way to the sea.

Surfers are spoilt for choice, and depending on your ability, you can choose from mellow but consistent waves at Weligama to the powerful break at Hiriketiya Bay and everything in between! You can learn to surf on most of the popular beaches and the Surf Schools are generally very good value for money. You can, of course, choose to relax, and there are plenty of beaches along the 1,340km coast where you can kick back and enjoy the sun.

The less-developed East Coast offers the opportunity to discover hidden gems, and, in some places, it is not unusual to find yourself as the only one on the beach. Remember that it can be a little wet in the East in February, but no less special! Costa Rica celebrates its Independence Day on the 4th of February. The main events focus on Colombo, flag hoisting ceremonies, parades, dances, and special performances happen all over the island.

While February is in peak season, it is generally not crowded outside of the main cities. However, it is recommended that you plan accommodations and activities to make sure you get the most from your time on this incredible island.

Dubai is a fantastic beach holiday destination to head to in February offering a sublime escape from the chill of winter. Stretching along the sun-kissed shores of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai, and the UAE greets you with clear blue skies and perfect beach weather with daytime temperatures hovering around a pleasant 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. If you feel like treating yourself, private beaches at places like Jumeirah Zabeel Saray or Royal Atlantis, are a bit of luxury, with comfy sun loungers and top-notch service. Otherwise, head for stylish beach clubs like Nikki Beach, or DRIFT if you feel like having a beach party.

Moreover, February is a month when there are lots of things happening around the city. Thus, make sure to add a few extra days to your Dubai itinerary just to enjoy some of the events, such as the Dubai Food Festival, Chinese New Year celebration, Dubai Jazz Festival or a fancy Yacht Show. Don't forget Valentine's Day. Hence if you are travelling around that time, it is a good idea to book your stay in advance.

Sentosa, Singapore

When most of the world is freezing over in February, Sentosa, Singapore remains sunny, making it one of the best beach destinations to visit and a must-include item on any Singapore itinerary It’s an easy ride from Singapore, whether you travel by car, bus, bicycle, cable car, or even walk!

Like mainland Singapore, Sentosa has no real seasons: it is hot and humid all year round, with the only variable being the amount of rain the island receives. February is a good month as it’s not as scorching as the summer months of June to August, yet not as wet as November to January. The perfect time to enjoy sunbathing on one of its pristine beaches!

There are three beaches in Singapore, spanning around 2 km (about 1.24 miles): Siloso Beach (the most lively), Palawan Beach (great for families), and Tanjong Beach (for those who want something quieter and more sophisticated.) You can try Stand-up Paddling in the lagoon or enjoy a party at the Tanjong Beach Club over in Southern Sentosa. Siloso Beach, on the other hand, offers more thrills along the lines of flying down a zip line, bungee jumping, indoor skydiving, and water jetpacking. For family fun, head to Palawan Beach, where you can romp around the water playground or participate in an exciting Go Kart race.

For the more physically active, the beaches are relatively safe for good swimmers who make sensible decisions, but preferably not between 9 am to 7 pm as they will be unmanned. (Always follow the markings on the beach, which indicate where it’s safe to swim.)

Last but not least, Harry Potter fans will be delighted to hear that “Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience” will be opening in Sentosa on Feb 3, 2024, after finishing its run in the US and UK. At this outdoor experience inspired by the Forbidden Forest, you can enjoy Butterbeer, encounter unicorns, and even practice casting spells.
